About our cause

Our cause is dogs. Where do puppies come from...? In many cases, from puppy factories... where their mother is locked in a barren cell, continually impregnated, and deprived of company, affection, exercise, and proper veterinary care — until the last day of her life. Your support will help shine a bright light on puppy mills through critical public awareness initiatives and lobbying efforts to create a kinder and more just world for puppies and their parents. A personal message from Animals Australia:
Our target: $ 1,000
So far we've raised: $ 300

We're raising money to help shut down puppy mills. Australians love dogs. In fact, more than one in three Australian households includes a doggy resident. They are our best mates and beloved members of the family.

But, tragically, the desire for canine companionship has also left the door open for ruthless and unethical large-scale puppy mills to treat animals like... machines; churning out more and more puppies in often awful conditions for sale online or in pet shops. That also means more and more puppies who end up as unwanted dogs on death row in pounds and shelters.

This is a huge problem, but one we can all help solve: by adopting, doing our research to choose a responsible breeder, and spreading the word about puppy mills.

You can help us end this cruelty. With your generous support, we will continue to educate the public about this issue, and campaign for more effective regulation of the trade in companion animals. Together, we will free dogs and puppies from puppy mills.

Svetlana Krasinski $30.00 02-03-2013 Imagine not having the sun or fresh air cross your face. How do you think these tiny gorgeous creatures feel being stuck in filthy, smelly cages; never feeling the gentle touch or love from a kind person. We give freely and willingly to those in need when we are hit with floods, and natural disasters. How about the little voices we can't hear or that can't speak! Thank God I have a heart.
